Andre Greene Jr. is staying in the ACC.

The former North Carolina wide receiver is transferring to Virginia, he announced on Friday. Greene spent two seasons with the Tar Heels before deciding to enter the transfer portal.

Here’s his announcement:

Greene joined Carolina as a 4-star recruit in the class of 2022. However, he was never able to establish himself as a key member of UNC’s receiver rotation despite there being ample opportunity to do so in 2023.

In two seasons with the Tar Heels, Greene caught 5 passes for 43 yards and 1 touchdown. His lone score came in North Carolina’s bowl game loss to Oregon last season.

Virginia has now made six transfer additions so far this offseason. Greene joins former Notre Dame receiver Chris Tyree as new options in the passing game for the Cavaliers. With Anthony Colandrea expected to take over full-time next season, the Cavs in position to potentially take a big step forward next year.

North Carolina will play at Virginia in 2024. Greene has three years of eligibility remaining.
