Armando Bacot recorded his 30th double-double of the season in UNC’s 81-77 win over Duke on Saturday night.

That pushes him past Wake Forest legend Tim Duncan for the most double-doubles in one season for any player in ACC history. He’s one away from trying David Robinson’s all-time record of 31 for any division I player.

Bacot was simply dominant on the glass in North Carolina’s upset win over Duke on Saturday night. He grabbed a preposterous 21 rebounds and significantly out-played Duke’s vaunted front court of Mark Williams and Theo John.

He also fought through injury in crunch time. He rolled his ankle with about 6 minutes remaining and later told reporters the “100%” thought he was out for the game. Bacot was able to re-enter and still controlled the paint down the stretch despite being hobbled.

Hubert Davis said his ankle injury wouldn’t keep him from playing against Kansas in the National Championship game on Monday.

Tipoff is at 9:20 p.m. ET.
