Duke’s Michael Savarino — the grandson of former Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski — entered the transfer portal on Tuesday morning.

Shortly after that news was made public, North Carolina star Armando Bacot jokingly suggested he transfer to UNC.

Of course, Krzyzewski’s grandson donning the Carolina blue will never be a reality. Still, it’s a hilarious hypothetical to consider.

Savarino earned a scholarship at Duke after spending two years as a walk-on. He’ll still have three seasons of eligibility at his next program, which will presumably offer more playing time.

Savarino was arrested for DWI at the beginning of last season. Duke freshman Paolo Banchero was also in the vehicle, but was determined to not be at fault. Banchero was not suspended for any games after the incident.

As for Bacot and the Tar Heels, they are still figuring out what their team will look like next season. North Carolina is waiting on NBA Draft decisions from Caleb Love and R.J. Davis. Bacot and Leaky Black have already announced their return for next season.
