Armando Bacot is recruiting Baylor's Matthew Mayer to North Carolina
North Carolina star center Armando Bacot is apparently taking it upon himself to help the Tar Heels’ coaching staff on the recruiting trail.
Bacot tweeted at Baylor transfer forward Matthew Mayer, who could be the perfect replacement for Brady Manek in UNC’s starting lineup.

Bacot tweeted something similar at 5-star forward GG Jackson earlier this offseason. Jackson ended up committing to the Tar Heels last month.
Mayer is a very interesting player with championship experience. He’s not quite as good of a shooter as Manek, but is a better defender and overall athlete. And at 35% from 3-point range for his career, he’s good enough to stretch the floor as a power forward.
Manek is the only member of the “Iron Five” who won’t be returning to college basketball next season. Last season was his final year of eligibility.
Whether or not they land Mayer, the Tar Heels are expected to be one of the best teams in the entire country next season.
