Armando Bacot led the way as North Carolina defeated Notre Dame 81-64 on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill.

Bacot scored 21 points and hauled in 13 rebounds. He also dished 4 assists. UNC’s ball movement was much better in this game, as every player in the starting lineup had multiple assists. The team finished with 19 assists — a season-high in ACC games — on 31 made baskets.

The victory moves Carolina to 3-2 on the year in ACC action. Notre Dame is now 0-5 in conference play.

Pete Nance missed this game due to a back injury he suffered in Carolina’s win over Wake Forest earlier in the week. Freshman guard Seth Trimble took his place in the starting lineup, making his first-career start.

Caleb Love also had a great game. He scored 18 points on 16 shots and made 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.

Puff Johnson played the majority of Nance’s vacated minutes in this game and was efficient. He scored 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting and also grabbed 6 rebounds.

Carolina is now 11-5 on the season. The Tar Heels will be in action again on Tuesday against Virginia.
