Caleb Love won’t suit up for North Carolina this season, but the transfer still has love for his former team.

Love, who played the last 3 seasons playing for the Tar Heels, returned to North Carolina on Friday night for a game against Duke with his new team, Arizona.

While he’s facing his former rival with a new team, Love still has a place for the Tar Heels in his heart.

Love’s shoes for Friday night’s marquee matchup featured writing that said “Tar Heel 4L” on the side.

Love was a fan-favorite and a standout for North Carolina. The guard averaged double-digit points all 3 of his seasons for the Tar Heels, with his best year coming last season when he averaged 16.7 points per game.

He’s looking for similar success with Arizona this season, and he’s off to a solid start. In his first game with the Wildcats, he had 12 points in a dominant win over Morgan State. Love is looking for a big game against Duke on Friday.
