Drake Maye earns interesting compliment from Dabo Swinney: 'He makes the popcorn taste better'
Drake Maye earned an interesting compliment from Clemson coach Dabo Swinney on Tuesday.
Swinney said Maye is so good he “makes the popcorn taste better.”
Swinney also called Maye elite. If Maye stays healthy, he’ll play for a long time, according to the Clemson head coach.
“This is another elite quarterback. This guy’s gonna play football for a long time, if the Good Lord keeps him healthy,” said Swinney. “He makes the popcorn taste better. Everything’s better when you got a dude like that.”

Maye had 342 yards passing with 3 total touchdowns in the 47-45 double overtime win over Duke. Every game is a must win for the Tar Heels if they want to have a chance at playing in the ACC title game.
Clemson is having a down year, but shouldn’t be taken for granted. The Tigers most recently beat Georgia Tech 42-21.
The Tar Heels travel to Memorial Stadium to play at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
