North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye continues to pile up accolades in his freshman season

Maye scored 5 touchdowns in UNC’s blowout win over Virginia Tech on Saturday. It was the fourth time this season that Maye has scored 5 total touchdowns in a game.

For his effort, ESPN analyst Dan Mullen named Maye as one of his top quarterback performances of the week.

Maye is joined by Arizona’s Jayden De Laura, East Carolina’s Holton Ahlers, Boston College’s Phil Jurkovec, Kansas State’s Adrian Martinez and TCU’s Max Duggan.

So far this season, Maye has 1,594 passing yards and 19 touchdown passes compared to just 1 interception. He also leads the ACC with a passer efficiency rating of 187.64.

He’s also been a threat with his legs. Maye has rushed for 3 touchdowns this season, including 2 in the win over Virginia Tech in Week 5.

Maye will have another tough test this weekend as the Tar Heels take on Miami at Hard Rock Stadium.
