Drake Maye shares North Carolina's 'mentality' toward possible College Football Playoff berth
Drake Maye understands that the College Football Playoff is slowly becoming a reality for North Carolina.
Maye sat down with Matt Leinart Friday to talk about how the season has gone. Maye was asked when it will start to set in that North Carolina could be a playoff contender.
Maye stated that the Tar Heels’ mentality when it comes to the playoff is being 1-0 each week. Maye understands that in order for North Carolina to even be considered as a playoff team it would have to win out.
“The best thing about this team is we’re so focused to go 1-0 each week. We’re focused on that and getting back to the ACC championship,” said Maye. “We don’t have the kind of recognition, we’re starting to get it a little bit, that Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia have. We’ve got to win out probably, to get in. We know that. 1-0 is our mentality. From there, we’ll see what happens and put our best foot forward.”
