ESPN analyst includes 6 North Carolina players on midseason All-ACC team
ESPN’s David Hale released his midseason all-ACC team on Wednesday afternoon.
North Carolina was well-represented with 6 selections on the first team. Quarterback Drake Maye, running back Omarion Hampton, offensive tackle Spencer Rolland, defensive end Kaimon Rucker, linebacker Cedric Gray and defensive back Alijah Huzzie all made the cut.
Here’s Hale’s full midseason all-ACC team:

Maye is once again regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the entire country. So far this season, he has thrown for 1,902 yards an 12 touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 184 yards and four more scores on the ground.
Hampton has been a big part of North Carolina’s success offensively. He’s emerged as arguably the top running back in the ACC and is coming off of arguably his best game with the Tar Heels — a 197-yard performance in a win over Miami last weekend.
Rolland anchors a strong North Carolina offensive line. He’s in his second season as North Carolina’s starting right tackle.
Rucker, Gray and Huzzie are major reasons why North Carolina’s defense has improved so much in 2023. The Tar Heels’ defense has allowed 5.32 yards per play so far this season, which ranks 7th in the ACC. Carolina was last in the ACC in that category a year ago.
North Carolina will face Virginia on Saturday.
