ESPN gives new North Carolina bowl projections after Week 4
ESPN has updated its bowl projections for North Carolina following Week 4.
The Tar Heels are now 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in ACC play. They defeated Pittsburgh 41-24 on the road this past weekend.
ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach are both projecting the Tar Heels to reach the postseason. They updated their projections following UNC’s big win in Week 4.
Bonagura has UNC playing in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against Kentucky. The Tar Heels last played in that bowl game at the end of the 2021 season.
North Carolina and Kentucky have quite a bit of history. The teams have met 10 times, with each program winning 5 of them. However, they haven’t met since 1990.
Schlabach is projecting UNC to face Kansas State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl (Formerly known as the Cheez-It Bowl). Carolina and Kansas State have never met in football.
North Carolina has plenty of time to get into the conversation for a New Year’s Six bowl game. The Tar Heels are currently amongst the favorites to compete in the ACC Championship Game in December.
Carolina is idle in Week 5.
