ESPN matchup predictor gives projection for North Carolina-Indiana game

North Carolina will travel to Indiana on Wednesday night for a marquee nonconference matchup.

The Tar Heels started the season as the No. 1 team in the country, but enter this clash on a two-game losing streak. North Carolina lost to Iowa State and Alabama over the weekend at the PK85 event in Portland.

Indiana will be a tough test for North Carolina as it looks to snap its losing streak. The Hoosiers are 6-0 so far this season.

According to ESPN’s matchup predictor

, Indiana is a big favorite. ESPN’s model gives the Hoosiers a 81.2% chance of defeating North Carolina on Wednesday night.

Caleb Love has been UNC’s leading scorer so far t

his season at 20 points per game. However, he’s only shooting 41.8% from the field and just 24.5% from 3-point range. The Tar Heels will need him to be more efficient moving forward.

North Carolina is also still adjusting to playing with Northwestern transfer Pete Nance at the power forward position. Nance is off to a good start this season as he’s averaging 11.9 points and 5 rebounds per contest.

Tipoff is at 9:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday night.
