North Carolina is set to face Oregon in the Holiday Bowl on Wednesday evening.

The Tar Heels are big underdogs in this game, as they’ve lost three straight contests entering the postseason.

ESPN’s Football Power Index is backing the Ducks in this game. FPI gives Carolina just a 30.5% chance of pulling off the upset.

North Carolina is trying to secure its first 10-win season since 2015. The Tar Heels ended the regular season with losses to Georgia Tech and NC State. They also fell to Clemson in the ACC Championship Game.

UNC is dealing with several high-profile opt-outs, injuries and transfers for this game. Receiver Josh Downs, running back Caleb Hood, cornerback Tony Grimes, cornerback Storm Duck, linebacker Noah Taylor and safety Cam’Ron Kelly are amongst the players who will miss this game due to various reasons.

Oregon also has its fair share of absences, mostly due to the transfer portal. Starting cornerback Christian Gonzalez opted out of this game after an all Pac-12 season.

Both starting quarterbacks will be playing in this game. Oregon’s Bo Nix had a solid season while Carolina’s Drake Maye was named ACC Player of the Year for his performance as a redshirt freshman.

Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday night.
