ESPN's FPI updates North Carolina's win probability vs. Georgia Tech
ESPN’s Football Power Index has updated its projection for North Carolina’s Week 9 contest vs. Georgia Tech.
The Tar Heels are coming off of a heartbreaking loss to Virginia in Week 8. That defeated ended UNC’s bid at a perfect season and knocked the Tar Heels out of a tie for first place in the ACC standings.
Georgia Tech is also coming off of a disappointing loss this week after dropping a home game to Boston College.
FPI is projecting Carolina is a significant favorite on the road in Atlanta this weekend. The model gives the Tar Heels a 79.7% chance of coming away with the victory.
North Carolina still has a relatively clear path to the ACC Championship Game if it can run the table from here. However, its schedule does include tough games against Duke, Clemson and NC State in November.
Georgia Tech managed to pull off an upset vs. the Tar Heels last season in Chapel Hill. The Yellow Jackets have won the last two meetings in this series.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
