So far, North Carolina commit GG Jackson has had no trouble making an impact for Team USA.

Jackson scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Americans crushed Ecuador in a U-18 game earlier this week. Team USA won 123-41 as it improved to 2-0 in the pool play stage of the FIBA Americas U-18 Championship.

Late in the game, Jackson threw down this windmill dunk in transition late in the 4th quarter:

Jackson is listed at 6-foot-9 and is known as a skilled shooter and creator. However, this play indicates he might have plenty of athleticism upside, too.

He was recently named the No. 1 overall player in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Jackson is also helping North Carolina on the recruiting trail. Alongside fellow 5-star commit Simeon Wilcher, Jackson has been recruiting 5-star forward Matas Buzelis to the Tar Heels’ 2023 recruiting class.

UNC’s 2023 recruiting class currently ranks No. 2 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Team USA will finish pool play with a matchup vs. Puerto Rico on Wednesday night. The American have already defeated the Dominican Republic in this tournament.

North Carolina signee Seth Trimble is also on this Team USA roster.

Jackson is expected to join North Carolina for the 2023-24 season.
