Hundreds of North Carolina fans were present at UNC’s hotel in New Orleans for a send-off prior to the National Championship game on Monday night.

Here’s a shot of fans cheering on Armando Bacot:

Fans were also present at the team hotel prior to North Carolina’s win over Duke on Saturday night. UNC won 81-77 thanks to a last-minute 3-pointer by sophomore guard Caleb Love.

Carolina will be facing No. 1-seeded Kansas, who defeated Villanova in the Final Four. The Jayhawks are led by Ochai Agbaji, who is a potential lottery pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

North Carolina has upset three higher-seeded teams to get to this game: Baylor, UCLA and Duke. The Tar Heels are attempting to win their 7th National Championship in program history.

This is UNC’s 21st Final Four, which is an all-time record.

North Carolina is hoping that star center Armando Bacot will be fully healthy for this game. He’s expected to play after suffering an ankle injury late against Duke on Saturday night. He was able to return to the game, but experienced soreness on Sunday.

UNC is 6-5 all-time against Kansas. However, the Jayhawks have won three straight meetings in this series. Kansas is a 4-point favorite.
