Joe Lunardi updated his field of 68 projection on Tuesday morning.

North Carolina is now a No. 9 seed in the field after dropping games to Pittsburgh and Duke last week. The Tar Heels would face No. 8-seeded Auburn in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament, per Lunardi’s projection.

The Tar Heels are now 15-8 overall and 7-5 in ACC play following their recent skid. They currently rank No. 36 nationally, per KenPom.

North Carolina isn’t on the bubble yet, but the Tar Heels will need to pick up some wins down the stretch. Carolina still has games remaining vs. possible NCAA Tournament teams Wake Forest, Clemson, Miami, NC State, Virginia and Duke.

Lunardi’s latest bracket projection includes 7 ACC programs. Duke, Clemson, Miami, Virginia, NC State and Pittsburgh are the teams who are currently included.

North Carolina will be in action again on Tuesday at Wake Forest.
