Leaky Black, UNC SF, speaks on late resurgence: 'This is where we find out who we really are'
North Carolina basketball is figuring it out just in the nick of time. It seems, at least.
Truth be told, there is still a lot of basketball to be played until Selection Sunday, when UNC figures out if it’s going to go from being AP No. 1 to NIT or if it’s going to squeak into the Field of 68.
The Tar Heels survived a late comeback attempt by Florida State Monday, taking another step towards the field.
Following the game, senior SF Leaky Black declared that games like Monday’s help UNC find out who they truly are heading into March.
Leaky Black: βItβs been a long, tough season, but this is where we find out who we really are, winning games like this on the road.β

Here’s Black’s key dunk with under 2 minutes remaining. The Seminoles were fighting back and had it within 4 when Black decided to unleash on the rim:

Is North Carolina going to miss the tournament?
On Sunday, Feb. 19 North Carolina was not in good shape to make it back to the tournament in 2023 without winning the ACC. They had lost 5 of their last 6 and were quickly running out of time.
Now, Black is able to hum a different tune. UNC has won 3 in a row, with a huge win over Virginia Sunday night. That win is the catalyst. They just need to finish the job in their final game of the regular season now.
Against Duke this Saturday. Buckle up.
