Mack Brown made history on Saturday night in Charlotte.
With North Carolina’s win over the Gamecocks, Brown became the first coach in FBS history to earn 100+ wins at 2 different programs. Brown also crossed the century mark during his career at Texas.
This is Brown’s 2nd stint with the Tar Heels. He led UNC in Chapel Hill from 1988-97, winning 69 games during that span. He’s now won 31 games with UNC since re-taking over as head coach in 2019.
Brown coached at Texas from 1998-2013. He won 158 games and a National Championship during his time with the Longhorns. His stint in Austin also included 9 s
traight seasons of double-digit wins from 2001-09.
Brown in the top 20 all-time winningest college football coaches in program history. This victory gives him 275 in his career as a head coach.
North Carolina is now 1-0 on the year and should have a lot of momentum heading into ACC play. The Tar Heels reached the ACC Championship Game last season, but fell to Clemson.
UNC will host App State in Week 2.
