Mack Brown isn’t happy about North Carolina’s 2023 schedule.
When the Tar Heels’ head coach met with reporters on Monday — ahead of the schedule release set for later that same day — he said in no uncertain terms he felt the Tar Heels weren’t treated fairly by the ACC when the league crafted its schedule for next season.
Brown said the league “wasn’t fair” and that he was disappointed in the finished product. Asked for more details, he answered, “You’ll see.”
North Carolina opens its 2023 season with South Carolina. It’ll host Appalachian State and Minnesota in the weeks that follow. Campbell is scheduled to visit on Nov. 4.
We’re waiting to see what the schedule will look like, but we know UNC is set to face Clemson, NC State, Pitt, and Georgia Tech on the road. Carolina’s home conference slate will feature Miami, Duke, Syracuse, and Virginia.
The 2023 season will be the ACC’s first year under its new 3-5-5 scheduling model. The Atlantic and Coastal divisions are gone, and the league’s 2 championship participants will be determined by conference winning percentage. The schedule will be revealed live on the ACC Network from 7-9 p.m. ET.
