Mack Brown gave an injury update on several players prior to this week’s game against Notre Dame.

North Carolina had a bye week in Week 3, which allowed the injured players to recover without missing a game. Brown announced that offensive tackle Spencer Rolland and defensive tackle Myles Murphy will return against Notre Dame.

Rolland missed the last game against Georgia State with a lower body. Murphy will be ready to play again in Week 4 after dealing with an injury.

While Rolland and Murphy are good to go, North Carolina will further evaluate 3 other players who have been dealing with injuries. North Carolina will wait to make decisions on wide receiver Josh Downs, wide receiver Antoine Green, and running back Caleb Hood.

Downs and Hood did not play against Georgia State on Sept. 10. The offense could use help from Downs and Hood to add more depth to the wide receiver and running back rooms. North Carolina narrowly defeated Georgia State in Week 3 and will look to have a stronger performance against Notre Dame.

Before the season started, North Carolina endured a major blow when running back British Brooks suffered a season-ending injury in training camp. Having several players return from being sidelined will go a long way for the Tar Heels.

North Carolina hosts Notre Dame on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
