North Carolina beats out SEC team for RB in class of 2023
North Carolina landed the commitment of running back Jordan Louie on Wednesday morning.
Louie was an important signing in the backfield for North Carolina. He will join an experienced group of running backs and will look to earn playing time for the Tar Heels.
In the class of 2023, Louie was a 3-star recruit from Norcross, Georgia, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings. Louie was the 50th ranked running back in the country and the No. 67 ranked recruit in Georgia.

In recent weeks, Louie narrowed his recruitment down to several schools and he ultimately landed on North Carolina. Last week, Louie went on an official visit to Kentucky. He chose North Carolina over Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and West Virginia.
Instead of playing in the SEC, Louie will be joining one of the top teams in the ACC. In 2022, North Carolina finished the regular season with a 9-4 record and an appearance in the ACC Championship Game. Louie will be competing with running backs Caleb Hood, British Brooks, Omarion Hampton, and DJ Jones for playing time.
North Carolina has the No. 26 overall recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
The Holiday Bowl will bring North Carolina’s season to a close against Oregon on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
