North Carolina moved to 4-0 with a convincing 41-24 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday night.

Drake Maye accounted for 3 touchdowns in the win — 1 in the air and 2 on the ground. He also threw for 296 yards on the night.

Omarion Hampton continues to be UNC’s top option in the backfield. He rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. A team, North Carolina gained 373 yards.

UNC fell behind early, but took the lead late in the 1st half on a punt return touchdown by Alijah Huzzie. The Tar Heels never relinquished the lead after Huzzie’s big play put them in front.

North Carolina’s defense wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough to slow down the Panthers. Carolina held Pitt to just 5 yards per play. It also picked off Christian Veilleux twice in the 2nd half. UNC also recovered a fumble, meaning it was +3 in the turnover margin for this game.

North Carolina is now 1-0 in ACC play. The Tar Heels are a top contender to go back to the ACC Championship Game this season.

Carolina will be idle in Week 5. The Tar Heels are in action again in Week 6 as they host Syracuse.
