North Carolina is continuing to hit the recruiting trail hard in the class of 2023.
The Tar Heels have already secured commitments from 5-stars Simeon Wilcher and GG Jackson. But according to Wilcher, they’re going after another highly-coveted 5-star in that class.
The target is 5-star forward Matas Buzelis. He’s ranked as the No. 6 overall player in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings

“Matas. That’s who we are trying to get. We are trying to get Matas,” Wilcher said on a recent episode of the Front Office podcast. “I wouldn’t say complete but that will be a force to reckon with. Especially with Seth (Trimble) and all those guys that will be there when we get there.”
Buzelis would be a huge addition for North Carolina. Listed at 6-foot-9, he’s projected to be a great shooter at the college level and can handle the ball well for his size.
