Drake Maye picked up ACC Quarterback of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. He’s the first QB to be honored twice in the 2023 season.
Maye posted a season-high 4 passing touchdowns, going 17-of-33 throwing the ball for 273 yards. The Carolina QB has now hit the 200-yard mark in all 20 games as a starter, including this season’s 6 contests. Saturday was Maye’s 5th time hitting the 4 TD mark in his career.
Tez Walker was Maye’s top target against Miami. Walker recorded 6 catches for 132 yards and 3 touchdowns, earning ACC Receiver of the Week honors. Walker become the first Tar Heel to have a 50-yard reception and a 20-yard rush in the same game since Johnny White against Clemson in 2011.
UNC’s leading rusher was Omarion Hampton. The ACC’s Running Back of the Week logged 197 rushing yards and a score in the Tar Heels’ victory. Hampton has 5 TDs on the season and has hit triple-digit yardage twice in 2023.
Gray delivered a pair of turnovers. The ACC’s Co-Linebacker of the Week had 10 total tackles, including a TFL to go along with a fumble recovery, a pass breakup, and an interception.
