North Carolina battled but ultimately lost to UConn in the Jimmy V Classic on Tuesday. The Tar Heels’ only lead was during the 1st half and their largest of the game was by 4.

North Carolina was plagued by exhaustion and struggled to hit shots down the stretch as the Huskies began to pull away. The Tar Heels were also out rebounded 43-33 by the Huskies.

Turnovers were another problem for North Carolina as the team had 7 in the loss.

Armando Bacot finished with a double-double regardless, accounting for 13 points and rebounds. R.J. Davis (26) and Harrison Ingram (20) were the team’s leading scorers.

UConn was led by Cam Spencer in the scoring department. Spencer ended his night with 23 points after going 8-of-14 from the field.

North Carolina suffered its 2nd loss of the season as it heads into the next matchup at 7-2. The Tar Heels play Kentucky next in the CBS Sports Classic.
