North Carolina guard Anthony Harris will miss remainder of 2021-22 season
North Carolina guard Anthony Harris will not return to the court for the Tar Heels this season, the program announced on Friday.
Harris last played on Jan. 8. He missed contests vs. Georgia Tech and Miami for an undisclosed reason.
According to UNC’s release, Harris will continue to practice and participate in team activities.
“Anthony has worked hard to become a valuable contributor to our team,” North Carolina coach Hubert Davis said in a release. “We are disappointed for Anthony and our team, but he will continue to contribute and we know he will work hard so he can play for us again next season.”
This is a blow to North Carolina’s depth on the wing. Harris is a third-year guard who averaging 11.7 points per game.
North Carolina is coming off a blowout loss to Miami on Tuesday. The Tar Heels trailed by 33 points late in the second half and now may be on the NCAA Tournament bubble.
UNC faces Wake Forest on the road on Saturday.
