North Carolina started the 2022-23 men’s college basketball season as the preseason No. 1 squad in the nation.

However, the season hasn’t gone according to plan for the Tar Heels, who made the national title game last year before losing to Kansas.

Coach Hubert Davis and company have struggled their way to a 16-11 overall record and have been particularly bad as of late, losing 5 of their last 6 games.

Are the Tar Heels in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament entirely? ESPN’s PTI hosts, Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser debated that on Tuesday:

Kornheiser was ready to stick a fork in the Tar Heels and call them cooked, but Wilbon said there’s still a ray of hope for UNC fans.

Currently, ESPN bracketology expert Joe Lunardi has North Carolina as the first team out of the tournament. The Tar Heels are back in action on Wednesday night at Notre Dame. The game tips off at 9 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on ESPN.
