North Carolina is a big underdog in 2nd round matchup vs. Baylor
North Carolina is a 5.5-point underdog in its second round matchup vs. Baylor on Saturday, according to DraftKings. The total has been set at 149 points.
Baylor is a No. 1 seed and is defending its National Championship from a season ago. The Bears were dominant in the Big 12 this season and had little trouble with Norfolk State in the first round on Thursday.
North Carolina is peaking at the right time, though. The Tar Heels have won seven of their last eight contests, including victories over Duke and a 32-point win vs. Marquette on Thursday.
Brady Manek, Caleb Love and Armando Bacot were all dominant vs. the Golden Eagles. Manek scored 28 points while Love added 23 points, including 6 first-half 3-pointers. Bacot finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
It’s worth noting Baylor will be without starting guard LJ Cryer. His absence was noticeable last week in the Big 12 Tournament, as the Bears were upset by Oklahoma. He averages 13.5 points per game.
North Carolina and Baylor tip off at 12:10 p.m. ET on Saturday.
