After suffering 4 consecutive losses earlier in the year, the Tar Heels are clawing their way back and up the rankings.

The Tar Heels have managed to bounce back from their string of losses, notching wins over the Georgia Tech, Citadel, and Ohio State in their past three games. The wins have also catapulted North Carolina to a No. 6 seed in the bracketology predictions, according to ESPN.

Joe Lunardi’s latest projection includes 5 teams from the ACC. UNC is joined by Duke, Miami, Virginia and Virginia Tech. NC State is listed amongst the “first four” teams out of the bracket.

North Carolina’s overtime win over the Buckeyes was the Tar Heels’ best win of the season to-date. UNC is now 8-4 on the season as it nears the end of nonconference play.

Armando Bacot has been UNC’s best player for much of the season. He’s averaging 17.5 points and 11.6 rebounds per contest. Caleb Love, Pete Nance and RJ Davis are also scoring in double figures each game.

The Tar Heels will face Michigan on Wednesday.
