Wake Forest enters this game with an 8-0 record and a 5-0 mark in ACC play. The Demon Deacons are ranked No. 10 in the AP Poll, which marks the first time in program history they’ve reached that benchmark.
Meanwhile, North Carolina is trying to pick up the pieces of a disappointing season. The Tar Heels are 4-4 and are coming off another loss to Notre Dame in Week 9.
Still, UNC has one of the most talented rosters in the ACC and arguably the conference’s best quarterback in Sam Howell. The Tar Heels also have a strong Biletnikoff candidate in Josh Downs.
North Carolina is 70-36-2 all-time against Wake Forest. These teams have met five times since 2010, with UNC taking home the victory on three occasions. The Tar Heels won 59-53 last year in Chapel Hill.
It’s worth noting this meeting will not officially count as conference game in the ACC standings. The programs agreed to make this a nonconference series back in 2015. The 2019 meeting, which was won by Wake Forest, was also a nonconference game.
Kickoff will be at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday.
