North Carolina and South Carolina will play in primetime on Saturday night of Week 1.

ABC will broadcast the game. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET in Charlotte, making this game one of the headliners for the first full college football Saturday of the year.

Details were also announced for North Carolina’s Week 2 and Week 3 contests. UNC will host App State at 5:15 p.m. ET in Week 2. That game will be televised on ACC Network.

UNC’s Week 3 game against Minnesota will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 16. That game will be broadcast on either ESPN or ESPN 2. This will be UNC’s first-ever meeting with Minnesota.

North Carolina and South Carolina have played twice in recent years. The Gamecocks defeated UNC in the 2021 Duke’s Mayo Bowl. However, the Tar Heels won this matchup in 2019 when it was played in the regular season.

This game will be played in Charlotte and it will be the 60th meeting all-time between UNC and South Carolina. UNC holds the all-time series record, 35-20-4.
