North Carolina’s dramatic overtime win over Baylor Saturday turned out be a record-tying achievement.

The Tar Heels now have nine victories in program history vs. No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament. That ties Duke for the most all time.

This will go down as one of UNC’s most memorable wins in program history. The Tar Heels blew a 25-point lead before eventually winning in overtime. They also had to overcome the absences of Brady Manek (ejected) and Caleb Love (fouled out) for a large portion of the second half.

R.J. Davis led the way with 30 points. Manek was having one of the best games of his career prior to his controversial ejection. He scored 26 points on just 13 shots.

North Carolina will now prepare for a high-profile matchup vs. UCLA in the Sweet 16 next week. The Tar Heels and Bruins have met 13 times in series history, with UNC have a 10-3 record.

The Tar Heels have won five games in a row vs. UCLA. Their last loss came back on Jan. 15, 2000 as the Bruins upset a No. 15-ranked UNC team.

Tipoff details for UNC-UCLA are to be determined.
