North Carolina tight end Kamari Morales intends to enter the transfer portal after playing in Chapel Hill since 2019.

Morales played in 12 games this season with 158 yards receiving. He finished 3rd among North Carolina’s tight ends in yards. Morales had a career-high 358 yards receiving last season for the Tar Heels.

Morales left a message for North Carolina fans on social media:

“I want to thank my coaches for the opportunity to play at the University of North Carolina. I especially want to thank Coach Lilly and Bubba Cunningham for all of their support throughout my UNC career,” said Morales. “With that being said I will be entering the transfer portal and seeking an opportunity elsewhere. I will forever be a Tar Heel. And I am a proud alum!”

Morales will be bringing plenty of experience with him wherever he ends up next. He played in 51 games over five seasons with the Tar Heels. He’ll have just one year of eligibility remaining.

North Carolina was 8-2 before the Clemson game and dropped its 2 final games of the regular season.

North Carolina lost 39-20 to N.C. State to close out the year at 8-4. The Tar Heels now await their bowl game opponent.
