North Carolina will be without three rotation players when it takes on Notre Dame in South Bend on Wednesday night, the program has announced.

Justin McKoy and Kerwin Walton will both miss the game due to COVID-19 protocols. Dawson Garcia will be held out with a concussion that he suffered vs. Boston College earlier this week.

Garcia is perhaps the biggest loss of this trio. He has started in 12 of North Carolina’s 13 games this season and is shooting 47.8 percent from 3-point land. He’s averaging 10 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest this season.

Earlier this week, coach Hubert Davis praised Brady Manek for his ability to step in for Garcia after he left the Boston College game with a concussion.

As for McKoy and Walton, their absences will strain the depth of North Carolina’s wing rotation. The Tar Heels could give more minutes to players like Leaky Black and Anthony Harris.

North Carolina enters this game with a 2-0 record in ACC play. The Tar Heels are currently ranked No. 31 nationally in KenPom’s live rankings.

Tipoff is at 9:00 p.m. ET.
