North Carolina is one of eight participants in the PK85 Invitational, which is set to take place this November. The Tar Heels’ first-round matchup, as well as the rest of the bracket, was revealed on Monday morning.

UNC will face one of the hosts, Portland, in the first round. If North Carolina wins that game, it will play the winner of Iowa State-Villanova.

UConn, Oregon, Alabama and Michigan State are the other teams in UNC’s bracket for the PK85 Invitational.

This tournament will honor Nike founder Phil Knight, who turns 85 years old in February of 2023. The Phil Knight Invitational began in 2017 as the PK80, which celebrated Knight’s 80th birthday.

For this iteration, the tournament expanded to include 8 more teams who will compete in the “Legacy” tournament. Eight women’s teams will also be participating in the event this season.

North Carolina will play Portland on Thursday, Nov. 24. The tournament runs through Nov. 27.
