North Carolina’s offense is going to be a bit shorthanded on Saturday afternoon against Georgia State.

In addition to not having Josh Downs for this matchup, the Tar Heels will be missing 2 other key players: running back Caleb Hood and offensive tackle Spencer Rolland.

That’s according to a report from Inside Carolina’s Adam Smith, who cites program sources. Hood and Rolland are both expected to miss this game due to lower body injuries.

North Carolina is already thin at the running back position after losing British Brooks for the entire season. Hood led UNC in rushing yards last week with 87 yards on just 6 carries.

The Tar Heels’ rushing attack will now be split between Omarion Hampton, George Pettaway and DJ Jones. Hampton and Pettaway are true freshmen.

Rolland is North Carolina’s starting right tackle. The Harvard transfer has started UNC’s first two games at that position this season. Former 5-star true freshman Zach Rice is listed as Rolland’s backup on North Carolina’s depth chart.

Kickoff is at 12 p.m. ET.
