Report: 2 refs who officiated North Carolina-Baylor debacle will advance in NCAA Tournament
Two officials who worked North Carolina’s overtime win over Baylor last weekend will continue to work games in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, according to reports.
That’s per college basketball insider Jeff Goodman, who released the names of every official who will move on to the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight rounds.
The officials who are moving on are Brent Hampton and Kipp Kissinger. Donnie Eppley, the third official who worked the UNC-Baylor game, is not moving on.

Officiating was a major source of controversy across the country this past weekend, but perhaps nowhere moreso than in the UNC-Baylor game. The Tar Heels lost Brady Manek to a controversial ejection mid-way through the second half. There were numerous other questionable calls that helped Baylor overcome a 25-point deficit.
Hampton is one of the officials who will be working UNC’s East Regional in Philadelphia this week, per Goodman. Kissinger is working the South Regional.
