Sam Howell delivers go-ahead score in Week 1
Sam Howell helped the Washington Commanders secure the win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 of the NFL season. The North Carolina product scored a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Howell started one game for Washington last season. Howell ended Sunday’s game with 202 yards passing and 2 total touchdowns.
Howell noticed that he had space to work with and took advantage of it for six points.

Washington went on to win the game 20-16 over Arizona.
The Commanders used Taylor Heinicke and Carson Wentz at quarterback last season. Howell is now the lead man in Washington and is off to good start.
Howell was taken in the 5th round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Commanders.
