Sam Howell throws for 325 yards, leads Commanders to win over Patriots
Sam Howell continues to have an impressive first season as the Commanders’ starting quarterback.
He led Washington to a 20-17 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday. He threw for 325 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception in the victory.
Howell led a game-winning field goal drive with just 1:49 remaining in the contest. Joey Slye put the Commanders up 20-17 with a 30-yard field goal, and Washington’s defense was able to close it out from there.
Howell’s lone touchdown pass of the day to Jahan Dotson was a big one. He found Dotson on a deep ball midway through the 3rd quarter to tie the game up at 17-all.
