Sam Howell time? NFL fans calling for Howell to make pro debut

Former North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell could be nearing his NFL debut.

The Washington Commanders lost 24-8 to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon, with starting quarterback Carson Wentz not doing much to help the cause.

While Howell was inactive for this game, he could receive starting consideration going forward. Wentz completed just 12-of-23 passes for 104 yards through 3 quarters.He ended up throwing for 211 yards on 43 attempts thanks to garbage time numbers in the 4th quarter.

Howell was a 5th round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He’s also competing with backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke for a role on this team.
