ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt has unveiled his college football picks for Week 9 and they include the matchup between No. 21 North Carolina and Pittsburgh.

Van Pelt is picking Pittsburgh at +3 against host North Carolina. The SportsCenter anchor expects a close contest in the conference clash.

“Finally, similar deal in Chapel Hill. Pitt has lost two of three, Carolina is on a roll, ranked, yet giving just three. Sure,” Van Pelt said. “By now you know what to do. Say it with me — Hail to Pitt.”

Van Pelt is 8-4 all time when he picks against North Carolina, so it’ll be interesting to see what unfolds in the contest.

North Carolina is coming off a bye week. North Carolina most recently edged Duke 38-35. North Carolina is 3-0 in the ACC play.

Pitt most recently fell 24-10 against Louisville. Pitt has dropped 2 of its 3 conference games this season.

North Carolina leads the all-time series 10-5 against Pitt. Pitt has won the last 2 meetings in the series.

Pitt-North Carolina is slated for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on the ACC Network.
