Bowen had been committed to Notre Dame for nearly a year. He originally picked the Fighting Irish back on Jan. 1, 2022. However, he has decided to sign with the Ducks.
Oklahoma and Texas A&M were also heavily involved in Bowen’s recruiting. Oregon was able to make a late push over the last couple weeks.
This is a huge loss for Notre Dame. Bowen was the Fighting Irish’s top-ranked recruit in their class. He is the No. 14 overall player and the No. 2 safety in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Bowen’s decommitment drops Notre Dame back to No. 6 in the national team rankings, per 247Sports Composite rankings. The Fighting Irish had the No. 1 class in the country at one point this cycle.
4-star offensive lineman Charles Jagusah is now Notre Dame’s top-ranked commit in this class. He’s the No. 49 overall player in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
