Chris Tyree delivered one of the best punt return touchdowns you’ll ever see on Saturday vs. Pittsburgh.

Tyree caught the ball at his own 18-yard line with a pair of Pitt defenders barreling toward him. He made both Panthers miss, broke through another arm tackle, got a couple of blocks and then was off to the races by the time he reached the 35-yard line.

From there, as Jac Collinsworth noted on the broadcast, there was nothing but green grass in front of him.

Here’s a replay:

This was Tyree’s first punt return TD at the collegiate level. He recorded a kickoff return touchdown for the Fighting Irish back in 2021, however.

Tyree has made the transition from running back to receiver this season and has been excellent. Tyree is a regular starter for the Irish and has already caught 16 passes for 335 yards and 3 touchdowns so far this season.

Notre Dame is looking for its second straight win this week. The Irish are coming out of their bye week. They last played in Week 7 and earned a 48-20 victory over USC in that contest.
