Pyne decided to leave Notre Dame via the portal earlier this offseason. This season for Notre Dame, Pyne completed 64.6% of his passes for 2,021 yards, 22 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
One of Pyne’s best performances came in Notre Dame’s win over BYU in Vegas earlier this year. He completed 22-of-28 passes for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns. That victory was Marcus Freeman’s biggest win at Notre Dame to-date.

While Notre Dame and BYU did play in 2022, that could be the last matchup for quite some time. There’s currently no other planned Notre Dame-BYU matchups on the schedule.
Notre Dame is expected to add a quarterback in the transfer portal this offseason.
