Drew Pyne is on a visit to BYU this week, according to a report.

That’s per The Daily Universe’s Jackson Payne, who notes that Pyne started in a game against the Cougars earlier this year. The Daily Universe is BYU’s student-run news organization.

Pyne decided to leave Notre Dame via the portal earlier this offseason. This season for Notre Dame, Pyne completed 64.6% of his passes for 2,021 yards, 22 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.

One of Pyne’s best performances came in Notre Dame’s win over BYU in Vegas earlier this year. He completed 22-of-28 passes for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns. That victory was Marcus Freeman’s biggest win at Notre Dame to-date.

BYU quarterback Jaren Hall is expected to enter the 2023 NFL Draft, leaving an opening for a new signal caller next season.

While Notre Dame and BYU did play in 2022, that could be the last matchup for quite some time. There’s currently no other planned Notre Dame-BYU matchups on the schedule.

Notre Dame is expected to add a quarterback in the transfer portal this offseason.

The Fighting Irish will face South Carolina in the Gator Bowl later this month.
