ESPN has updated its bowl projections for Notre Dame and the rest of college football after Week 10.

With the Fighting Irish losing to Clemson in Week 10, they are now likely out of the mix for a New Year’s Six bowl berth. Notre Dame is now 7-3 on the season with losses to Ohio State, Louisville and the Tigers.

ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura are both projecting Notre Dame to miss out on the NY6.

However, Schlabach still has Notre Dame playing on New Year’s Day. His projecting has the Irish facing off against LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl, formerly known as the Outback Bowl. This would be Notre Dame’s first-ever appearance in that bowl game. The Irish and Tigers last met on Jan. 1, 2018 in the Citrus Bowl.

Bonagura is projecting Notre Dame will face LSU in the Gator Bowl. Notre Dame has played in the Gator Bowl several times, including last season vs. South Carolina.

Notre Dame will close out the 2023 season with Wake Forest and Stanford. If the Irish win both contests and their bowl game, they would clinch their first 10-win season of the Marcus Freeman era.
