Notre Dame received updated bowl projections from ESPN heading into Week 8.

Notre Dame seemed to recover from the slow start with 3 wins in a row against California, North Carolina, and BYU. The progress from the last 3 games went away with a 16-14 loss at home to Stanford in Week 7.

ESPN college football writers Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach updated their bowl game projections on Sunday.

Bonagura projected that Notre Dame will appear in the Pinstripe Bowl against Minnesota. For Schlabach, he projected a Sun Bowl appearance against Oregon State for the Fighting Irish.

Saturday’s loss to Stanford was unexpected and it added an extra hurdle for the team to cross this season. Stanford entered Saturday’s game with a 1-4 record and a 4-game losing streak.

Losing to a struggling Stanford team was not in Notre Dame’s plans. With a 3-3 record, Notre Dame will need to finish strong to qualify for a bowl game.

Notre Dame will look to get back on the right track against UNLV in Week 8.
