ESPN updates Notre Dame bowl projections after Week 5 win over Duke
ESPN has updated its bowl projections for Notre Dame.
The Fighting Irish are coming off of a 21-14 win over Duke in Week 5. Their late win over the Blue Devils means Notre Dame is still alive for a potential berth in the College Football Playoff or a New Year’s Six Bowl.
This week, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura updated their bowl projections for the Irish.
Schlabach is projecting Notre Dame to face Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl. Notre Dame is 8-2 all-time against OU, although the Sooners won the most recent meeting between these programs back in 2013. Notre Dame’s last Cotton Bowl appearance was back in 2018.
Bonagura is predicting the Fighting Irish will play in the Pop-Tarts bowl against Kansas. Notre Dame is 4-1-1 all-time against the Jayhawks and has won 3 straight meetings in this series. However, they have not played since 1999.
Notre Dame has won 30 consecutive regular-season games against ACC opposition.
Notre Dame will look to move to 6-1 on the season vs. Louisville in Week 6.
