Notre Dame is firmly in the fight for a College Football Playoff berth.

The Fighting Irish enter Week 13 with a 10-1 record and are ranked No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Notre Dame’s ranking has risen each week since the committee began revealing updated rankings back in early November.

According to ESPN’s College Football Playoff Predictor, Notre Dame has a 53 percent chance of making into one of the four coveted playoff spots.

Only four teams are ahead of Notre Dame, per the Predictor: Georgia (99 percent), Cincinnati (65 percent), Ohio State (61 percent) and Alabama (60 percent).

Michigan is ahead of Notre Dame in the CFP rankings this week, but fall behind here presumably because the Wolverines still have to face Ohio State in Week 13.

Cincinnati could prove to be a difficult obstacle to overcome for Notre Dame if things don’t break right for the Fighting Irish over the next two weeks. The Bearcats gave Notre Dame its only loss back in October and currently sit at No. 4 in the committee rankings. They will also likely have a chance to pick up a ranked win vs. Houston in the AAC Championship Game in early December.

Still, Notre Dame likely has the résumé to get into the playoff above a 2-loss Alabama team and perhaps even a one-loss champion from the Big 12. Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Baylor all enter this week inside the committee’s top 10, but it’s unclear if a dominant champion will emerge from that trio.

Notre Dame will be looking to complete an 11-1 regular season on Saturday vs. Stanford.
