ESPN’s Football Power Index has released its projections for every Notre Dame game of the 2022 season.

The model is predicting the Irish to win 9 games this season. It gives Notre Dame a 1.2% chance to go 12-0 and a 18.8% chance to make the College Football Playoff.

FPI does think Notre Dame getting to bowl eligibility is a virtual lock — it gives the Irish a 99.7% chance of winning at least 6 games.

  • Oct. 15: vs. Stanford — 92.8%
  • Oct. 22: vs. UNLV — 98.3%
  • Oct. 29: at Syracuse — 83.4%
  • Nov. 5: vs. Clemson — 40%
  • Nov. 12: vs. Navy — 95.7%
  • Nov. 19: vs. Boston College — 91.5%
  • Nov. 26: at USC — 66.4%

FPI gives Notre Dame at least a 80% chance to win 8 of the 12 games on its schedule. The Irish are only underdogs in 2 contests — at Ohio State on Sept. 3 and vs. Clemson on Nov. 5.

Notre Dame has won 10+ games in each of the last 5 seasons.
